New Year, New After school!

ObstacleOur Spring Session of After School is starting and we would love to see you there! This semester long program meets once every week to explore the world of building, creating, and customizing robots! All robots have full electronic circuits that move, shake, light up, or do other fun actions.

During each class, children will learn all about electrical engineering and robotics in a hands-on environment. For our Robot Crafting Class, open to grades K-2, children learn fundamentals of building and are encouraged to be creative and use their imagination to customize each robot. For our Robot Building Class, open to grades 2-4, children receive hands-on instruction about engineering fundamentals with demonstrations of engineered objects in the real world. Builders will take home a robot every week.

For seasoned Robot Foundry Builders who are going into the 2nd grade or higher, we offer Inventors and Programmers Classes. For our Inventors Class, children can sketch, create, and carry out their own original robot ideas. To be an Inventor your child needs to have been at the Foundry for a full week of Summer Session or a full semester of After School. For our Programmers Class, children work in groups to program real electronics (servos, LEDs, motors, sensors) with Hummingbird robotics kits. These robots can interact with one another and the larger environment.
